The ultimate goal of this project is to create a system of QR codes on the buildings that will link to a web page with all of the information pertaining to that location. After a discussion with Mr. McGivern (the assistant director of facilities here) I was given the ok to actually mount the codes on the buildings. This will be done by drilling a small hole into the stone by the location I wish to tag and inserting a steel pin with a loop on the end. I can then put these nifty QR code dog tags on the end of the pin.
For the first month or two I will have temporary signs to accompany each tag, but after that the system will consist of just the tags and virtual guidebook/webpage. The cool thing about this system is that another student could use the mounts in a year or two for a new project. I am excited that I found both a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution to the QR code system issue. I plan to have the tags ordered and ready to be mounted by March.
